NATIONALLY
TELEVISED BOOT CAMP TRIAL
With over 80 felony jury trials to his credit, Robert has
also gained national attention for his representation of one of the boot camp
drill instructors in a nationally televised manslaughter trial. From
October 3, 2007 through October 12, 2007 much of the country was tuned in to
Court TV and other news agencies such as The
News Herald and
USA Today, as the fate of 8 drill instructors and one nurse hung in
the balance. The State attempted to show the death of a 14 year old boy
was due to the physical encounter with drill instructors exhibited in a widely
seen videotape.
The defense countered by
demonstrating that the young man suffered from a rare, but potentially fatal
blood disorder that triggered his death. Robert was one of the lead
attorneys in this high profile case which culminated with not guilty verdicts
for all defendants. You can view Robert’s opening and closing statements
