Julie Sombathy attended Cumberland School of Law on a full scholarship, where she earned the degree of Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 1994. Mrs. Sombathy attended Troy State University also on a full scholarship, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1991.
While at Cumberland School of Law, Mrs. Sombathy served as a member of the Cumberland Law Review and as a Cordell Hull Teaching Fellow. Upon graduation from law school, Mrs. Sombathy was inducted into the membership of Curia Honoris, in recognition of her academic achievement.
After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994, Mrs. Sombathy returned to her hometown of Panama City and joined the firm in general practice. Mrs. Sombathy primarily practices in the areas of Estate Planning; Wills and Probate; Guardianship; Real Property Litigation and Transactions; Business and Corporate Law; Construction Law; Trade Secret Litigation; Enforcement of Noncompetition Agreements and General Civil Litigation.
Mrs. Sombathy is a member of the Florida Bar, Bay County Bar Association, and was invited to serve as an Associate in the St. Andrew Bay Inns of Court for the 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 terms. Mrs. Sombathy a Barrister in the St. Andrew Bay Inns of Court in 2001. Mrs. Sombathy was appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit in 2000 by Governor Jeb Bush and served as a commissioner until July 2006. Julie was voted Reader's Choice Best of Bay for 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 in the Panama City News Herald's annual contest.
Mrs. Sombathy is admitted to practice law before both State court and Federal court (Northern District, United States District Court) and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mrs. Sombathy is available for appointments at the Beach Office, and her main office is the Downtown Office.
